Last night I finished Mass Effect 2, on which I have a few things to say in a future post. So now it's back to Star Trek Online and the captain of the Starship Hotspur who is currently engaged in a vicious running battle with the Gorn across the Regulus Sector.

In Star Trek Online whatever you do NEVER pick up a Tribble. One of my workmates did this and they multiplied to fill his inventory screen.

I admit it. I LoL'd at this.

Update: Apparently the Tribble only multiplies if you leave foodstuffs in your inventory. It eats all the food and breeds!

I'm really starting to get into Star Trek Online. By rights I shouldn't. The space combat is too simple--it's no Eve Online. The away team segments are highly variable, have slightly spastic team AI and, so far, not a lot of challenge. Even the puzzle segments are lame ( Read more... )

Yay! I finally laid my hands on a key for the Star Trek Online beta. The U.S.S. Hotspur is warping off to patrol Vulcan space!

The last tickets for the Star Trek Online open beta have gone.

Now I'll just have to wait for the release like everyone else.

It seems like the Daren Dochterman sample of Trek CGI that I linked to yesterday was a proof of concept piece for a bid that did not succeed. Another company has the contract for the Star Trek Enhanced shows.
